Today’s the day! The Vancouver Fall Home Show is open now at the Vancouver Convention Centre - West from today, Thursday, October 26 at 4:00pm, until Sunday, October 29 at 6:00pm. Stop by for home renovation advice from Canada’s favourite HGTV Canada stars and one-on-one consultations available with local experts, get a fresh dose of design inspiration and try out new DIY projects with hands-on workshops! Don’t miss out on exploring the 34th annual Vancouver Fall Home Show, truly the show for every home.

With so much to see over four days, we’ve compiled a guide with insider tips to help make sure you don’t miss a thing!

Before You Step Inside
Before you make your way to the Vancouver Convention Centre for design advice and inspo for your next home renovation, make sure you have your Vancouver Fall Home Show ticket! To save $3, buy your tickets online before you arrive courtesy of RenovationFind.com.

Now that you have your ticket, find your way to the Vancouver Convention Centre - West (1055 Canada Place, Vancouver BC). If you’re bringing your car and planning to do some shopping, parking at Vancouver Convention Centre - West is $10.00-$24.00 per car, or you can park at any auxiliary lots surrounding the Convention Centre. You made it! Now that you’re here it’s time to take in all the features and everything else #VFHS17 has in store. Start by making your way to the Urban Barn Main Stage presented by the Vancouver Sun to hear expert advice from the pros including HGTV Canada stars “Designer A-List,” Sarah Richardson of Sarah off the Grid, dynamic home-reno duo Kortney & Dave Wilson of Masters of Flip, and the vibrant Tiffany Pratt of Home to Win. Other design talent hitting the stage include DIY and lifestyle expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault along with a line-up of local favorites such as Jamie Banfield of Jamie Banfield Design and Kathy Yuen of Phase One Design. You’ll also have a chance to meet these design experts after their presentations!

Looking to turn your Pinterest board dreams into reality? Next, head on over to the Ask a Designer booth for a one-on-one consultation with a local designer. Once you’ve got some advice, check out “Double Take” presented by the Province with Jamie Banfield, to see how you can create a high end look in your home for less and get some insight on when it’s best to splurge and when to save. Finally, don’t forget to visit the nightstands created and styled by five local tastemakers participating in the One Nightstand DIY challenge in support of the Habitat for Humanity Society of Greater Vancouver.

Eat + Drink

When you’re ready for a seat and something special to sip on, head on over to The Lounge, presented by Western Living Magazine and designed by award-winning local designer, Kendall Ansell of Kendall Ansell Interiors. Take a moment to sit back and chill out with a cocktail and enjoy a presentation or two on the Urban Barn Main Stage, all from the luxury of the Lounge.

To treat your taste buds, head on over to the Cooking Stage to see presentations on some of Vancouver’s local food trends such as modern veganism, Japanese comfort food and a Canadian Favourite: Casear 101. Live cooking demonstrations with local culinary stars like Jefferson Alvarez of the popular Latin American-inspired restaurant Cacao, Rotem Tal and Itamar Shani of Chickpea, and Aaron Harowitz of Walter Caesar with Kate Dunn-Roy of Timber Restaurant are set to impress! Other chefs you will want to catch include Gordon Desormeaux of Chef Dez, Nathan Lowey of Dosanko, Chris Andraza of Fanny Bay Oyster Bar and Caitlin Mark of H2 Restaurant who will be heating up the cooking stage! To top it off local Sommelier Ryan Lewis will be presenting on food and wine pairing. Learn something new for your next dinner party and don’t miss out on a chance to see these local chefs in action! You might even get to sneak a taste!

After canvassing the show floor, you’ve had a drink in the Lounge, checked out some of the new exhibitors (and returned to see some of your favourites from past shows) and had a chance to speak to top local designers about your upcoming home renovation project. Now that you’ve had a taste of the show and are filled with design inspiration you’re ready to get started on a project of your own! Join local artisans and makers including A Plentiful Life, Bauble_Babes, The Flower Factory, Saige and Skye, and Three Corners Artisan for WORKSHOP, and learn a new DIY skill.
