One of the motivating factors for many DIY-ers is the potential to save money by flexing a little do-it-yourself muscle rather than hiring a pro, but be prepared to invest enough time to tackle your project from beginning to end. Although sweat equity may be free, it’s still important to create a realistic timeline and estimate of required materials to anticipate your overall budget.
